455 Front (Canary District)
Converted from the Pan Am Games athletes' village, with clean, safe Canary District streets and a very good YMCA downstairs; groceries are inconvenient, winter streetcar service is unreliable, and there is little storage.
Good points
- Clean, safe Canary District streets
- YMCA downstairs: pool, basketball court and fitness classes
- Well-kept lobby and common areas
- Close to the Don River and parks
Problems
- No big supermarket nearby; the closest is over 15 minutes' walk
- The 504 streetcar often short-turns or stops in winter
- Very little storage; nowhere to put bikes and boxes
- Shops downstairs are mostly specialty cafés, with few affordable places to eat
